If you want to update your front door, porch, or patio, a new door hanger sign is a quick and fun way to get a whole new look!
You’ll need just a few supplies to make your personalized door sign – perfect for the farmhouse look!
I’ll show you how to make your very own DIY wood round sign, so you can update your door, too!
DIY Wood Round Door Hanger Sign
Here are the supplies you need:
Supplies Needed:
Wood round – found in the lumber department at hardware stores like Home Depot or Lowe’s.
Paint and/or stain – I just used what we had on hand already.
Painter’s tape – if you want to two-tone look.
Paint brush and/or stain rag
Ribbon – I used burlap ribbon and a bow from a wreath I already had.
Faux greenery – Hobby Lobby has a great selection and often has it on sale.
Cricut machine + vinyl – to make a stencil – or you can freehand.
Staple gun – to attach the greenery and ribbon to the wood.
Here’s how to make you own DIY Wood Round Door Hanger Sign:
1. Paint and/or stain your wood round.
I stained one with a grey stain, and another with a medium brown stain. Then, I used painter’s tape and painted one side white for a two tone look.
2. Create your vinyl stencil, apply, and paint.
I used my Cricut machine to create a stencil.
Here’s some ideas you could do for your sign:
- Welcome
- Welcome Home
- The (last name) Home
- Welcome to our farmhouse
- Friends and family welcome
- Hello
- Hey there
- Hey y’all
Once you create your vinyl stencil, apply it to your wood round, and paint inside the stencil. Remove the stencil right away.
3. Add ribbon and greenery.
Use a staple gun to add the greenery and ribbon.
You’ll want to staple it to the back to create a ribbon hook to hang your new door hanger.
And that’s it! You can really personalize these to fit your style and decor.
These DIY wood round door hangers would make great gifts or an awesome craft to make and sell, too!
Have fun with this one! 🙂
