Do you want to make a super easy meal plan, that you can use over and over again? In this post, I’m sharing a budget friendly two week rotating meal plan.
If planning meals every week seems daunting, take all the work out of it and use a rotating menu. You won’t have the same meals every week, and you won’t have to make a meal plan again!
Easy Two Week Rotating Meal Plan on a Budget
If you are short on time and energy to make a new meal plan each week, a rotating menu can help you still eat frugal meals at home without all the meal planning work each week.
What is a rotating menu?
A rotating menu, or meal plan, is a menu that repeats itself over and over. For a two week meal plan, you follow the meal plan for two weeks, then start over.
This type of meal planning makes it so easy! You just follow the meal plan constantly, and you don’t have to think of a meal plan again – until you want to change it up!
How do you make a rotating meal plan?
Making a rotating menu is really easy! Just think of 14 simple, easy, and frugal meals that you know your family loves to eat regularly.
You want to be sure to choose meals you know your family loves to eat. These are going to be meals you eat over and over again.
Once you have your list of meals, just grab a sheet of paper, chalkboard, or type up your menu.
Think about what your normal weeks look like. Plan the quickest meals for the busiest nights.

Make your own 2 week rotating meal plan:
You can be as specific or general in your meal plan as you like. Plan the exact meals and sides so you know exactly what groceries to buy and exactly what you are going to make.
Or, you can be more general and plan a chicken pasta night and make something with what you have on hand. I prefer to be very specific, so I know what groceries I need to have.
Speaking of groceries, having a rotating meal plan makes grocery shopping so much easier! Since you will be preparing the same meals every two weeks, your grocery list will be about the same, as well.
You could even do your grocery shopping every two weeks instead of going once a week, since you have your meal plan ready for the next two weeks.
A rotating meal plan can work for breakfast and lunch, too!
You can also try making some freezer meals, so you don’t have to cook a full meal each night. Try making burger patties, a big batch of spaghetti sauce or chili, chicken marinade bags, or casseroles.
Try making your own 2 week meal plan on a budget and use it over and over again. You can update your rotating meal plan every 3 or 4 months to change up the meals.
