I started making handmade crafts a few years ago to sell at craft shows and make some extra money. This was such a fun hobby and side job!
I wanted to share a few of my favorite simple woodworking projects that you can make and sell, too! You don’t need to be a professional woodworker to make these simple wood crafts!
15 Easy Wood Crafts to Make and Sell
What can you make out of wood that will sell? Well, there are tons of things! I’ll list some of the things I have tried here and projects that I think will sell well.
Use these wood crafts to make and sell as inspiration and get creative!
First, here are some basic tools you might need:

Easy Things to Make and Sell Out of Wood:
Here are some simple things to make out of wood that you can sell at craft shows, online, or just give as fun handmade gifts!
1. Coaster Sets
I made these sets of coasters and sold many at local craft shows and fairs. They were always a hit – especially around holidays!
These are pretty frugal to make, and you could charge $15-$30 for a set of 4.
2. Picture Frames
There are several different types of picture frames you could make and sell.
I made these picture frames out of scrap wood and love the rustic style of them. They sold really well – again, especially around holidays!
Make sure to place a stock photo in your frames when you set up at craft shows, so people know what they are at a glance.
You can price these anywhere from $8-$30.

3. Jewelry Organizer
You can easily make a jewelry organizer out of some rustic wood or barn wood, pretty knobs or hooks (check Hobby Lobby), and a ribbon hanger.

4. Coat Hanger
You could make a similar design, but add more sturdy hooks for a cool coat hanger.
5. Decorative Boxes
Make some fun centerpieces or decorative boxes with stained wood or pallet wood. Add some greenery, flowers, or jars for a ready to go decoration piece.
6. Wood Signs
There is an endless variety of styles and sayings for wood signs. Make funny signs, faith based signs, kitchen/bath/bedroom signs, colorful signs, neutral signs, or personalized signs.

7. Decorative Trays
You can make some really fun and creative wooden trays to sell.
Make chalkboard servings trays, bath tub trays, trays with wording, or any other style you can think of!
These make great gifts! You can price these from $15-$75 depending on the quality, type of wood used, and size.

8. Growth Rulers
Growth charts or growth rulers are fairly simple to make and have sold well for me in the past.
Most people like these to be personalized, so you may get more orders selling these in a local craft sales group or from Facebook.
These can be sold from $20-$45 depending on the quality.

9. Holiday Signs
Holiday decorations and signs are fun to make. You can make signs for different holidays – just make sure to advertise and include them at craft fairs well before the holiday so people have time to decorate.

10. Dog Leash Hangers
You can make dog leash hangers with a small piece of wood, a hook, and a little paint or vinyl decal.
Offer to personalize these with dog names for a special handmade item.

11. Wood Lanterns
Make wooden lanterns out of tobacco stick wood, or small pine wood. You can sell these plain, as a set, or with greenery and bows added.

12. Christmas Ornaments
Christmas ornaments are fun to make and sell well for small gifts. You can make so many different styles, too!
You can price ornaments from $2-$12 depending on the style.

13. Front Porch Signs
Front porch signs are easy to make! You can make these many different ways – home, welcome, personalized, sports theme, holiday theme, etc.
You can sell these for $20-$40 depending on the style.
Here is how I made mine for about $10.
14. Little Wood Houses
These were a fun craft to make. You can add different words and phrases to these. Or use the same idea and make different shapes – pumpkins, Christmas trees, etc.
