Are you looking for a sample monthly meal plan to follow? I love to make a meal plan for the month to save time each week making the menu.
It’s so nice to have the whole month’s meals planned out, so you can shop for everything you’ll need and not have to worry about planning meals for the whole month.
In this post, I’ll give you a sample monthly meal plan you can follow to make your menu planning so much easier.
Easy Monthly Meal Plan
Making a meal plan for a month may sound intimidating, but it can actually be easier than making a weekly meal plan each week.
You can look at the whole month ahead, and plan meals around what you have going on.
Here’s a sample monthly meal plan you can follow or use as a guide to make your own meal plan for the month.
A few tips to make a monthly meal plan:
Don’t feel like you have to make a unique meal every night. You can have the same meal once a week, or two times during the month.
Think about which nights will be busy for you, and plan simple meals those nights or plan to eat out.
Consider having “theme nights” to make it easier to come up with meal ideas. For instance, Fridays could be pizza night and Mondays be pasta night.

Tips as you create your monthly meal plan:
You can make this easier by making big batches of meals, and freezing some for another meal.
Use your planner, or a simple piece of paper to make your monthly meal plan. Think of meals your family loves and that are easy and quick to make.
You can plan more time consuming meals for the weekends or days when you will have more time to cook.
Don’t try to plan new recipes each day. Stick with what you know and what’s easy and quick to make. You can try one new recipe each month or one a weekend.
If you know you will eat out some nights, go ahead and plan for that. Write that in your monthly meal plan so you can plan ahead and budget for eating out those nights.
Having this monthly menu plan will help you eat at home more, save money, and save a ton of time.
