Looking for a fun bridal shower idea? We just hosted a “She Found Her Main Squeeze” citrus theme bridal shower and had so much fun!
I love hosting showers and parties, especially when there is a fun theme!
Since we had the shower in the summer, I thought a citrus theme would be so fun and different!
I’ll show you how we decorated for the bridal shower, what food and drink we served, and a fun non-cheesy game we played!
She Found Her Main Squeeze: Citrus Theme Bridal Shower
The bridal shower was for my sweet cousin who will be getting married in just a couple of months.
We had so much fun celebrating her and visiting with everyone who came.
The theme:
The theme was “She Found Her Main Squeeze” with lots of lemons, yellows and greens and whites.
We hosted the shower in August, so summer was the perfect time for a citrus theme like this!
This theme would be cute in spring or summer!
Invitations:
We ordered these invitations from Etsy – the perfect invite for our theme!
Decorations:
We used a lot of lemon decor, and stuck with yellow, green, and white for the colors.
Dollar Tree had a fun selection of lemon plates. And we found some fun lemon napkins.
The yellow tissue banner is also from Dollar Tree!
I love this super affordable lemon table runner I ordered from Amazon.
We printed some of the couple’s engagement photos and used frames we already had. And a faux lemon greenery piece added to the decor.
We also picked up some yellow and white fresh flowers.
DIY Decor:
Favors:
I typed and printed the “Thanks for squeezing in time for Mollie’s shower! Please enjoy a gift soap!” sign. Then, just glued it on a piece of lemon scrapbook paper from Hobby Lobby.
The gift soap favors were handmade by my Mom. I made the gift tags using yellow and white striped scrapbook paper and a typed message saying “Thanks for squeezing in time for Mollie’s shower”.
Then, I just hole punched and used green baker’s twine to tie the soap favors up!
She Found Her Main Squeeze Banner:
I also love using my Cricut machine to make DIY party decorations!
For the banner, I used yellow and white striped scrapbook paper and a medium green scrapbook paper.
I uploaded a pennant banner image and cut out as many shapes as I had letters.
Then, using the Cricut Sans font, I cut each letter out using the Cricut machine and green scrapbook paper.
Once everything was cut, I glued the letters on each pennant.
I used yellow baker’s twine and taped the back of each pennant to the twine, making sure my spacing was even.
Welcome Sign:
The welcome sign was made with lemon scrapbook paper and yellow card stock. I just used my Cricut machine to write the welcome message, glued it together, and placed it in a frame I already had.
Lemonade and Sangria Tags:
I just typed and printed the words, cut them out, and glued them on scrapbook paper.
Then, just hole punch and add some baker’s twine!
Gift Bingo Game:
I love to play gift bingo at showers! It’s a fun way for guests to talk among themselves, have a little competitive fun, and take some of the pressure and awkwardness away from the person opening presents.
Guests are excited to see what she will open, hoping they might bingo, and the guest of honor can relax without all eyes constantly on her.
It’s gone really well every time we have played!
Here’s how the game works:
- Make printable bingo cards or grab free ones here.
- Have guests write down gifts they think the bride might open in each blank square.
- If the bride opens that gift, they put an X over the square.
- When someone gets 5 in a row, they yell bingo and get a prize!
Our prize was a decorative kitchen towel wrapped up with yellow ribbon. It doesn’t have to be anything big or expensive.
I personalized our bingo cards using the free Canva app, but you can grab free ones here!
Food & Drink:
For the food, we served:
Chicken Salad on Croissants
Warm Spinach Artichoke Dip with Tortilla Chips
Fruit Tray
And for desserts, we served:
Black and White Cookies
Lemon Cookies
Lemon Cheesecake Cups
For drinks, we offered:
Lemonade
Water with Lemon
Sangria Bar with blackberries, strawberries, raspberries, and blueberries.
We had so much fun at our She Found Her Main Squeeze bridal shower! I love the theme, all the decorations, and we had the best time!
Feel free to use any of these ideas for your own citrus theme shower!
