Men are hard to buy for in my experience. But one thing that doesn’t be hard is filling their stockings with goodies under $5!
My husband and I usually skip Christmas presents for each other, and just fill each other’s stockings with small goodies. Doing this for 6 years now, I have figured out the best stocking stuffers for men under $5.
If you want to save more money at Christmas this year, consider swapping big gifts for just stocking gifts. Use the money saved to pay down debt or buy something you both love!

1. Batteries
My husband always seems to need batteries, so in the stocking they go! Practical, yes, but better than clutter that won’t be used.

2. Gloves
We love the $2 gloves from Harbor Freight, and seem to wear them out often. A couple pairs of gloves are great and practical!

3. Multi purpose lighters
These go on sale at our grocery store a few times a year, so I usually grab them and keep them for stockings. This is a great deal on a bulk pack, that you can split into a few stockings.
4. Pocket lighters
Easy to pick up and put in stockings. Find deals on pocket lighters here.
5. Car charger
Pick one up at a dollar store or on Amazon.
6. Command hooks
Command hooks are always handy to have!
7. Car air freshener
These are a great cheap stocking stuffer idea!

Dollar Tree has a great selection of snacks. You can even divide up multi packs to fill a few stockings.
9. Candy
Everyone needs a little candy in their stocking! Pick your man’s favorite candy from Dollar Tree. I love their movie theater style candy boxes and the fun size packs!
10. Chapstick
This is a tradition in our family to get Chapstick in our stocking. I don’t think I’ve bought Chapstick outside of Christmas time in my whole life.
11. Airplane size liquor bottles
A fun surprise!
12. Dish scrubber
This is a joke with my husband, since he used to do the dishes when I was working full time. I would get him a new dish scrubber every year, and he was so excited! Not! But it was funny!

13. Shop rags
Shop rags are always good to have around if your man works in the garage.

14. Head lamp
A head lamp is a great stocking stuffer gift and so useful for working in the dark.

Add some $5 gift cards for things like ice cream or fast food. I sometimes get the Wendy’s frosty keychain as a stocking stuffer.
16. Sand paper
If you use sand paper often, you know this is one thing you hate to keep buying over and over. If your husband does a lot of wood work, sand paper packs or sanding pads are a great little stocking stuffer.
17. Golf tees
Golf tees are a great stocking stuffer for the golfer in your life.

This is a fun gift idea for a stocking!

Vinyl decals are a fun gift! These can be added to car windows, computers, Yeti style cups, coolers, and so much more. If you have a Cricut machine, you can make your own for less.

I love giving my husband a new ornament every year, and seeing all the different ones when we put up the tree.
Grab one on vacation or one that has a special meaning. Check Hobby Lobby, Cracker Barrell, or craft shows for cute, handmade ornaments.

24. Travel size toiletries
A perfect stocking stuffer if your husband travels. Target and Dollar Tree have great selections of travel size toiletries.
25. Earbuds
These can wear out quickly, so grab a new pair of earbuds if your husband uses them a lot.
26. Razors
Use those coupons and get a nice set of disposable razors.
27. Planned date night
Free gift! Plan a few date nights, write down the details, and seal in an envelope. You will both enjoy having a planned date and not asking each other “What do you want to do?” a hundred times. 🙂
