Looking for a way to make some side money?
Refinishing furniture is one of my favorite side jobs. I love finding deals on furniture at yard sales, consignment stores, or for free!
I found a listing for a free desk, credenza, and side table in the free section of craigslist.com. That find turned into $360 profit!
Flip for Profit: Free Furniture = $360 Profit
I got all of this furniture for free! One big desk, a credenza, and a small side table.
Desk = $150 profit
The desk was in great shape, so I just cleaned it up a little and touched up the stain. It sold for $150 on Facebook marketplace.
Credenza = $170 profit
The credenza was in great shape, but was missing a couple of handles. To get more profit, I painted this piece with chalk paint and updated it with brand new handles.
I used coupons to get the chalk paint at a reduced price, and shopped for the handles at Hobby Lobby the week they were 50% off.
I spent about $30 on the materials to update the credenza, and sold it for $200. That leaves me with $170 profit!
Side table = $40 profit
The side table was actually in pretty decent shape and very sturdy. I had some leftover paint that I used, and then distressed it with sand paper. This table sold in a Facebook group for $40!
I really enjoy refinishing furniture, especially when I make a good profit!
These pieces were a great find. When you can get furniture for free, the profit can be much higher!
Look around and see if you can find some free (or almost free) furniture to fix up and resell for a profit! I wrote this post to explain more in detail how to flip furniture for a profit.
